Graduate PLUS Loan art General Financial AId Information art

The Graduate PLUS Loan is offered to a qualified student with or without financial need but the student must have financial aid eligibility. Like the Direct Stafford Loans for students, the U.S. Department of Education is the direct lender of the Graduate PLUS. Generally, repayment must begin within 60 days after the Graduate PLUS is fully disbursed. However, an in-school deferment may be obtained from the U.S. Department of Education by students that meet their requirements. There is no grace period for this loan. Interest begins to accrue at the time the first disbursement is made.

The U.S. Department of Education has provided Questions and Answers About Direct PLUS Loans for Graduate and Professional Students here.
