Estimated Student Expenses (Budget)

We use an estimate of allowable educationally related expenses that you may incur during the academic year at the University of Oregon to establish your budget. In most cases, an academic year is defined as being three terms long for undergraduate and graduate students.  The academic year for law students is typically two semesters long

Tuition and fees are based on whether you are and undergraduate, graduate, or law student; your residency status; and your intended level of enrollment. This amount has been established for undergraduates using an average of 14 credits per term. The actual cost of tuition is typically established by the Oregon University System in the summer preceding the beginning of the academic year.

Food and housing costs are based on where you will live while attending the University of Oregon. Off-campus food and housing costs reflect current market rates in Lane County. On-campus costs represent the amount most students are charged for a multiple room in a residence hall.

Texbooks and supplies are an average cost per term based on current textbook and bookstore pricing.

Personal expenses represent the typical expenses that a student may incur in the course of day-to-day living.

A transportation allowance is added if you are a nonresident student or if you are participating in the National Student Exchange Program.
