The Federal Work-Study Program is a federally funded financial aid program that enables students to earn money toward college expenses by working on campus, in the government, or in selected nonprofit agencies serving the community. Students receive a monthly paycheck (based on an hourly wage) that they can use for educational expenses.
The UO Work-Study Program is a limited university-sponsored program that provides part-time jobs on campus. Students must be eligible for financial aid and enrolled at least half time. They earn an hourly wage based on the type of job and their skills and experience. Students may work a maximum of twenty hours a week while school is in session. Availability of the program is subject to continued funding.
In order for students to be considered for these programs, the office must receive an official FAFSA from the federal processor prior to the UO priority deadline of March 1. Both of these programs are awarded based on a pre-established level of student financial need determined by the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships.
Students with Federal Work-Study or University of Oregon Work-Study Program eligibility can find information about available job opportunities through the UO Career Center.
