Receipt of Financial Aid and Scholarships
Once you have reviewed the Financial Aid Checklist to make sure you have completed the necessary steps to receive your financial aid and scholarships, you should then be eligible for financial aid. Disbursement begins each term a few days prior to the start of classes.
Disbursement of Financial Aid, Scholarships and Work Programs
All federal financial aid, most scholarships awarded through the university, and all fee waivers awarded by university departments are applied directly to the student billing account at the beginning of each term or once the student has fulfilled the requirements to receive the funds. Financial aid and scholarships are disbursed in three equal installments during the academic year.
After current charges on the student's billing account have been paid, any excess financial aid is disbursed to the student through direct deposit into their private bank account. Students authorize the disbursement of their refund to their checking or savings bank account via Direct Deposit by completing and returning the authorization form to the Payroll or Student Loan departments, located on the first floor of Oregon Hall.
Students receive money from Federal Work-Study and UO Work-Study programs as wages for hours worked during the pay period. Paychecks come from the Payroll Department and are generally available the last working day of the month.
If students have questions about their bill, or their direct deposit, please contact Business Affairs Office: Student Services.
