The Department of Veterans Affairs did not confirm that you are or will be a qualifying veteran for purposes of receiving federal student aid.
Action Required
If you are or will be a qualifying veteran, you must provide documentation to the Financial Aid Office.
Submit a copy of your DD214 (military separation form) that shows that you were discharged from active duty (for a purpose other than training) with other than dishonorable character of service.
Why do I have to do this?
If the Department of Veteran’s Affairs cannot confirm that you are a veteran, it is your responsibility to provide proof to the financial aid office.
What if I am not a qualifying veteran of the US Armed Forces?
If you are currently serving on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces for purposes other than training, correct your answer on the FAFSA about being an eligible veteran to “No” and give an answer of “Yes” to being on active duty.
If you are not on active duty or a veteran, you will need to correct your answer on the FAFSA about being and eligible veteran to “No” and add your parent(s)’ information and signature(s) for your FAFSA to be official.
