The Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships holds several workshops throughout the scholarship application season to assist students in their scholarship hunt. For help finding and competing for scholarships and tips on how to write essays for scholarships, attend one or both of these sessions.

Session I – The Great Scholarship Search

Learn how to plan a strategic scholarship search and get insight into where to find additional opportunities outside of the UO. We will help you set up scholarship profiles with the new UO Scholarship Dashboard and SALTmoney™ before you go. Let us help you jump start your scholarship search and leave with an action plan in hand! Bring your laptop and be prepared to start your search.

Session II – Writing a Winning Scholarship Essay

Learn what scholarship committees are looking for in a winning essay and let us help you develop your own story to put on paper. We’ll pass on tips and strategies for highlighting your unique strengths to make you a more competitive applicant. You’ll walk away feeling more confident in your ability to articulate your story through an essay and feel inspired to get writing! Bring either a laptop or paper and pen, and be prepared to brainstorm some ideas.
