The following are the terms and conditions of the General University Scholarship at the University of Oregon.
Scholarship Details
- Your General University Scholarship will be paid to you from one or more specific scholarship funds with which you will be matched, based on your particular qualifications. In the summer, we will let you know which specific fund your scholarship will come from.
- The initial amount of your scholarship is based on the assumption that you will attend full time all three terms of the academic year. Your scholarship will be divided equally across these terms and disbursed to your UO student billing account at the beginning of each term. You may not receive more than one term’s worth of General University Scholarship funding in any one term.
- You must be enrolled full time at the UO (12 credits for undergraduate or nine credits for graduate/law students per term) for your scholarship to pay out in full. However, you may have your scholarship pro-rated if you are at least half time, at your request.
Length of Scholarship
- The General University Scholarship is non-renewable and may be used only during the school year for which it was offered.
- You may apply for the General University Scholarship annually by completing the online application that is available each fall term. Selection is competitive.
Summer Courses
- If you did not utilize your full General University Scholarship during the school year, you may request to have some of the funding pay during summer term if you are enrolled at least half time.
- The amount available in summer term depends on your summer enrollment level and the amount of unpaid scholarship remaining for the year. You may not receive more than one term’s worth of General University Scholarship funding in any one term.
Study Abroad
You may use your scholarship for study abroad programs that are through Global Education Oregon (GEO) at the University of Oregon. Any program for which you are not receiving UO credits is not an eligible program, even if you are made aware of the program through the GEO.
Dual Enrollment
If you are in Dual Enrollment anytime during the academic year, please contact our office at the beginning of each term to confirm your scholarship pays out correctly. Please note that only your UO credits will count towards your enrollment for this scholarship.
