Home Flight Scholarship Terms and Conditions

The following are the terms and conditions for the Home Flight Scholarship.

Renewal Criteria

Your scholarship renewal is evaluated annually at the end of each spring term. To renew, you must:

  • Submit a FAFSA or ORSAA annually.
  • Satisfy any outstanding financial aid requirements.
  • Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards.
  • Register for full-time enrollment (12 or more UO credits) each term by the financial aid census date (the last day to add a class).

Covering Your Tuition and Fees

The Home Flight Scholarship covers your tuition and fees through a combination of federal grants, state grants, and university grants and scholarships. Financial aid disburses at the beginning of each term to full-time, eligible students. If there are any remaining tuition and fee costs immediately following the last day to add classes, those costs will be covered at that time.

Housing and Other Expenses

The Home Flight Scholarship covers 100 percent of tuition and fees. Expenses for housing, food, books, etc. are not covered.

Length of Scholarship

The maximum number of terms you may receive the Home Flight Scholarship depends upon your class standing at the time you are awarded. Refer to your initial award email for your exact number of terms of eligibility. Extensions to your Home Flight Scholarship eligibility period are not permitted for any reason. Should you graduate before you reach the maximum number of terms awarded, your Home Flight Scholarship eligibility is over. The remainder of the award cannot be used toward pursuing other degrees.

Dual Enrollment

Home Flight Scholarship recipients are not eligible for the UO Dual Enrollment program. Students who are interested in taking credits simultaneously at the UO and another college or university should consult with a financial aid counselor at the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships.

Impact of Other Scholarships

If you are the recipient of additional institutional scholarships or stipends, or scholarships from outside providers, your Home Flight Scholarship amount may be adjusted. You may not receive more than your full cost of attendance between all aid sources combined.

Study Abroad

The Home Flight Scholarship can be applied to study abroad programs through Global Education Oregon (GEO). The Home Flight Scholarship will cover a study abroad amount equivalent to 15 credits at the UO and is comprised of Federal, State, and UO awards. This amount will not increase in the event study abroad program costs exceed the equivalent of 15 credits.

Summer Courses

The Home Flight Scholarship does not cover summer term tuition and fees.

Final Term of Attendance

During your final term of attendance at the UO prior to graduation, you may have that term’s Home Flight Scholarship for less-than-full-time enrollment, if you have officially applied for graduation for that term and are enrolled in at least six credits. You must contact the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships to specifically request disbursement of your Home Flight Scholarship for less-than-full-time enrollment in your final term of attendance.
