The following are the terms and conditions of the Presidential Scholarship.
Before You Enroll at the UO
- Maintain honorable grades for the remainder of high school.
- Complete all courses required for admission to the UO.
- Do not complete any courses or receive credits from any college (post-secondary) institution after high school graduation.
- Register for full-time enrollment (12 UO credits) for the fall term of your entering year.
Renewal Criteria
Your scholarship renewal is evaluated annually at the end of each spring term. To renew, you must:
- Maintain a 3.25 cumulative University of Oregon GPA.
- Complete 12 UO credits for each term in which you receive a disbursement of your scholarship.
If you don’t meet renewal criteria at the time of annual renewal review, you may work toward having the scholarship reinstated in subsequent terms by raising your GPA and/or completing additional credits. If your scholarship is not automatically renewed due to eligibility or lack of enrollment, you must submit an email once you are enrolled and eligible requesting that your scholarship be reinstated.
Length of Scholarship
You may have up to 12 academic terms of the Presidential Scholarship to use for undergraduate study. Your 12 terms of eligibility must be used within five years of your first scholarship disbursement.
Disbursement of Scholarship
One-third of your yearly scholarship amount will be disbursed to your student billing account each term in which you are enrolled full time. No more than one-third of the scholarship can be disbursed per term.
Summer Courses
The Presidential Scholarship may be used for summer term upon written request to the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. Summer term usage counts toward your maximum of 12 terms of use. You must be enrolled full time for any term in which you receive your scholarship, including summer.
Study Abroad
You may use your Presidential Scholarship for study abroad programs through Global Education Oregon (GEO) at the University of Oregon. Any program for which you are not receiving at least 12 UO credits per term is not an eligible program, even if you are made aware of it through the GEO office.
Final Term of Attendance
During your final term of attendance at the UO prior to graduation, you may have that term’s Presidential Scholarship amount in full if you are enrolled less than full time, as long as you have officially applied for graduation for that term and are enrolled in at least six credits. You must contact the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships to specifically request disbursement of your scholarship if you are enrolled less than full time in your final term of attendance. If you graduate prior to using all of the terms of the Presidential Scholarship you were offered, any remaining terms will be forfeited.
