The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) indicates you have one or more student loans in an active bankruptcy status.
Action Required
If the status of your loans is defaulted, you must resolve the default before you can be eligible for federal financial aid. You must provide a letter from your lender showing that the debt is dischargeable.
Why do I have to do this?
A borrower who lists a defaulted FSA loan or grant overpayment in an active bankruptcy claim is not eligible for further FSA funds unless she provides you with documentation from the holder of the debt stating it is dischargeable.
