When you completed your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you provided information that does not match your academic standing information at the University of Oregon. The FAFSA asks if you already have your first bachelor's degree when the applicable academic year begins. It also asks for your college grade level.
For example, an incoming freshmen out of high school would select “No” to the question “When the student begins the school year, will they already have their first bachelor's degree?” They would also select “First year undergraduate (freshman)” as their college grade level.
Action Required
Review your FAFSA information and correct any errors if you answered incorrectly about having your first bachelor’s degree or you entered the wrong college grade level.
Why do I have to do this?
Several Financial Aid programs are only available to students working on their first bachelor's degree. Students who incorrectly identify themselves as having already earned their first bachelor's degree cannot be considered for these programs, such as the Pell Grant and Oregon Opportunity Grant.
What if I completed the FAFSA correctly?
If you have reviewed your answers to these questions on the FAFSA, and determined no corrections are needed, then you will need to speak with a financial aid counselor to discuss your unique circumstances and to make sure your outstanding requirement is satisfied.
